self-conscious leadership # 70. Rethink leadership with Executive Coach Claudia Nuss. This time: procrastinating or perceiving stress

Did you know that procrastination is a stress reliever habit?

All habits have three parts:

1. The trigger, which is almost always stress.

2. A pattern that hesitates and avoids doing something.

3. A reward. In this case, you will get a little stress relief.

The only way to break such a habit is to NOT deal with the triggers. You will never be able to completely avoid stress in your life. BUT you can change the pattern that comes next.

The next time you find yourself hesitating, take a break. Are you wondering what you are stressed about? What are you really trying to avoid? Are you currently pushing something off?

Because of this, stop feeling guilty for putting off something!
